Not doing much posting lately. Will be back after the election, which I expect Trump to win, without my vote.
Nuclear War?
Russia threatened nuclear attack again at Saturday's UN meeting. Is this a bluff? Does Putin want to kill all human life in the World, including all his Soviet citizens? This is not the first time he has made this threat. He is of course, nuts. There would be nothing left for him to rule over, he would be dead, along with 95% of the World and the remaining 5% would slowly die. These nuclear weapons are 1000 times deadlier than the bombs dropped on Japan in 1945. And there are thousands of these weapons on each side plus other nuclear powers. Duck and cover would not have worked then, and a bomb shelter will not work now. We will all be dead. Putin is nuts so who knows what will happen If he pushes the button our government will have minutes to react and we will be the last ones to know, if at all. It would be all out war and devastation throughout the World. Plus, the nuclear Winter which would encircle the globe for decades. So don't worry about something you can do nothing...

ReplyDeleteSam, please take care and don't let the politics and crazies like Dave and me get you down! At the end of the day, life will go on regardless of who wins. Politics in this day and age are indeed important, but your health and life far trump that, if you will pardon the pun. ;) I know you don't subscribe to a god, but I have said a prayer to God for your well-being regardless, my friend.

We're on opposite sides of the same coin. What he sees is real to him, and what I see is real to me. We're just looking in different directions.
Whoever said, ""We can't make our differences more important than our common humanity", had it right.
And, “We have so much more in common than what separates us.”
And, "We have much more in common with other people than we have apart."
One person was a president and two were candidates for president.
One president has never said anything remotely like it, and sees only himself and those who oppose him as "enemies within" to be dealt with by military force.
Dave, was loving your comment until the last sentence. Let me finish the thought for you.
ReplyDeleteOne candidate as sitting VP has sat within an administration that has actually prosecuted its enemies and sent law enforcement after others with whom it disagrees, even when there has been dubious evidence at best, statute of limitations has expired, or the prosecutor didn't even have jurisdiction over the charges filed. Yep, hope and joy in "saving democracy".

Dictators and adversaries cheer this chaos in America.
Putin celebrates his puppets for enabling his victory over America by fueling disfunction, division, and chaos. He will soon conquer Ukraine and threaten the rest of Eastern Europe. Putin thanks you for your service.
Trump WILL continue to commit more crimes and abuse his power. America will reap what it has sown. More women will die from pregnancy complications. More people will be beaten or killed by Trump's thugs. No foreigners will want to spend tourist dollars to visit this racist and xenophobic rogue country. We will lose all respect from our former allies and NATO, as they witness the implosion of our democratic republic into criminal kleptocracy and autocracy.
His promised tariffs will cause even more inflation than the pandemic did. You fell in line with Trump to blame Biden for global pandemic inflation. It has been lowered back to normal, but you're blind to that reality. Scapegoating is always the authoritarian way.
You have no standing to ever lecture anyone on morality, law and order, the Constitution, or patriotism again.
